Many immigrants are still being left out of political and economic decisions made in our country today. Yet their voices matter because much of America was built by immigrants, many of whom escaped from their homelands for opportunities that America promised to offer. Excluding these voices is disrespecting everything that the United States was created for. The Constitution should continue to strive to include all “the people,” because lack of representation limits opportunities for immigrants.
