Celebrating Student Creativity for America’s 250th

Open to all K–12 students in New York from June to December 2026

Schools, libraries, museums, and after-school programs across the state are invited to participate and submit student work.

  • A teacher toolkit to support historical reflection, inquiry, and enrichment
  • A multidisciplinary approach integrating art, media, social studies, and ELA
  • Searchable student submissions, filterable by school, district, region, keyword, genre, and more
  • Lead by example: Your students’ work will serve as models for classrooms across New York.
  • Shape the project: Provide feedback on the final Tapestry of New York website and educator toolkit.
  • Be recognized: Pilot teachers will receive a stipend in appreciation of their time and expertise.
